- Don’t hit below the belt
- Don’t attack character- talk about Issues
- Don’t counter attack – accept accurate & honest statements
- Don’t try to read others minds
- Use “I” messages rather than “you” messages
- Examine your emotions keep them appropriate
- Examine your method to ensure the rules are followed for successful

Game Plan
- Acknowledge your own need for conflict resolution
- Ask God to prepare you & the other person
- Announce intention to meet & resolve
- Arrange an appropriate place to meet
- Arbitrate the conflict
- Assert calmly & clearly what is wrong & how you feel about it
- 7 . Avoid defending & counter-attacking
- Answer by feeding back or reflecting your understanding of what the other
- person has said
- Aim to listen, hear, understand, and propose solutions not to win a debate or
- prove a point
- Ask a trusted third party observer to help if necessary
- Accept one another even if the resolution is not exactly as you want
